It is Sunday, December 7, in Hawaii; however it is December 8, 1941 at Clark Field, on the west side of the International date line. The Japanese bombers and fighters arrived at noon destroying nearly all the aircraft at Clark Field. 20th Pursuit Squadron Commander, Lt. Joseph H. Moore, of South Carolina, led three P-40’s against the Japanese aircraft. The P-40s shot down three Zeros. Resistance would continue for three more months, when Lt. Moore was ordered out of the Philippines aboard a submarine.
