The Regensburg Mission

by Gil Cohen

August 17, 1943 was one of the most significant days in the air war over Europe. A two-pronged mission to Schweinfurt and Regensburg marked the deepest penetration into Germany up to that time. Cohen places the viewer into the nose compartment of “Just a-Snappin” a B-17 of 100th Bomb Group. The "Bloody 100th” will pay a high price on this day with the loss of nine planes!
