Leading Edge

by Craig Kodera

In 1970, the Lockheed L1011 was considered by many to be the most advanced airliner of the day. “The Leading Edge” is one of the most striking examples of Photorealism from Craig Kodera, the master of Photrealism. The painting puts the viewer on the production ramp in the California desert. Another point of interest is the man “inspecting” the aircraft is Kodera’s father, a long time engineer at Douglas Aircraft, builder of the rival DC-10. Kodera’s father chuckles for he is depicted in “Enemy Territory”!
