In “First Mission” Nixon Galloway depicts the seconds after an American flight crew makes contact with the ground after delivering their ordinance on a German airfield in France. The Americans were flying in “borrowed” British aircraft on this, their first mission flown by the United States Army Air Corps from England of WW II.
